The Body Never Lies, The System Never Forgets
Is a Three-Part Experiential series bringing together Hakomi & Family Constellations
What if some of what shapes us lives beyond the stories we consciously know?
Our bodies hold experiences, responses and ways of being that we may not always have words for. And we are also part of wider family systems, shaped by relationships, histories, loyalties and patterns that can reach across generations.
The Body Never Lies, The System Never Forgets is a three-part experiential series bringing together Hakomi and Family Constellations to explore both.
Hakomi invites us to slow down and become curious about our present-moment experience: the body, emotions, thoughts, sensations and impulses.
Family Constellations widens the lens, revealing systemic and transgenerational patterns that may be influencing our relationships, choices and experiences in the present.
Not just something you'll learn. Something you'll experience.
Across three 3-hour sessions (total 9 hrs), Brandon Wong and Edwina Van Der Westhuizen will guide you through experiential exercises, demonstrations, partner and small-group work, breakout rooms and opportunities for personal exploration.
Rather than analysing, fixing or forcing change, we'll practise slowing down and noticing what emerges when we bring curiosity to both the body and the system.
You may discover something about yourself you already knew intellectually, but experience it in an entirely different way.
Vertical Meets Horizontal
Brandon often describes Family Constellations as vertical and Hakomi as horizontal.
Constellations takes us vertically into the deeper layers of our family system, exploring what may reach back through generations and the patterns and entanglements we carry.
Hakomi moves horizontally, inviting us to slow down, expand our awareness and simply be with what is present in the body, emotions and mind, without needing to change or fix it.
One takes us deeper. The other creates space around what we find.
In this series, we explore what becomes possible when the vertical and horizontal meet.
Who is this for?
You don't need any previous experience with Hakomi or Family Constellations, and you don't need to have attended our introductory workshop.
Come if you're curious about yourself, your relationships and the patterns that shape your life, or if you're a therapist, counsellor, coach or helping professional interested in experiencing embodied and systemic approaches.

Facilitated by: Brandon Wong
I am blessed that Hakomi landed on my doorstep one day. It made me curious about myself in a very safe way and all the healing happened to me without an agenda, or solution or something wrong with me. Fast forward to now, I enjoy seeing my clients unfold safely with me being a witness to such beautiful moments.
I find Hakomi an amazing modality to use on its own, or we could integrate it into any other modality. As a Family Constellations practitioner, I practice both modalities now and find them very different yet very complementary to each other. Hakomi to me is horizontal and expansive and we can grow to be very mindful of our present moment experiences, realizing how a lot of suffering is unnecessary. Family Constellations to me is vertical and transgenerational and we look at how suffering can be entanglements with our ancestors. When I integrate these two modalities, the spark is amazing. Hakomi just makes all healing modalities safer and more gentle.

Facilitated by: Edwina Van Der Westhuizen
Edwina is a Clinical Counsellor, trauma-informed therapist, coach, and Family and Systemic Constellations facilitator and trainer.
Since 2009, she has facilitated thousands of constellations with individuals, couples, families and groups, helping people uncover the hidden systemic patterns beneath trauma, relationship challenges, grief and repeated life patterns.
With a Master's degree in Counselling and over 20 years' experience supporting people through change, Edwina is passionate about helping people move beyond insight alone, creating lasting shifts through both the body and the wider systems we belong to.
In this collaboration with Brandon Wong, Edwina brings the systemic lens of Family Constellations, complementing Hakomi's mindful, body-centred approach. Together, these two modalities offer a unique opportunity to explore both the wisdom held within the body and the hidden family and relational patterns that continue to shape our lives.
Edwina believes that when we gently listen to both the body and the system, profound healing becomes possible.
A note about Attendance & Recording:
These sessions are designed to be experienced, not simply watched.
While the sessions will be recorded for our own purposes, this is not a pre-recorded or self-paced course. Much of the learning happens through participation, experiential exercises, breakout rooms and being present with the group.
For this reason, live attendance and participation across all three sessions is required.
We encourage you to only register if you can commit to being present for the three live sessions.
